It was a natural evolution of employment and skills. I spent 20 years working for other people in a variety of professions. Call it the school experience (hard knocks).

For me it was the discovery that I can do almost tipota.Akolouthise awareness that most workers in the building and decoration industry spend time bodging pragmata.Kano myself, after reading as many books and blogs that need to capture a thema.Oi Most writers have built asumptions about things – that everything you know or something allo.Etsi read four different authors. Take four different ideas to do it.

I was already in the construction industry for a few years ago I bought the first «fixer-me-up I learned a lot while doing the house itself.
There are many publications and websites that give you advice, but is very basic common sense that they are real. You begin by choosing the “right house.” You are a well-house to see if it is something that you think you have the skill level for rehabilitation. Start easy, as it had been partially reconfigured, or at least be informed at the last 30-40 years.
The older the home, and remodel the older, more things to do. Wiring can be a HUGE issue, since it generally involves gutting the whole house… Take your time and look around before you choose work.
It can be a rewarding experience, but can be a costly and lesson!

It started with specific tasks (flat, foundations basement), then went to work as an assistant carpenter, carpenter for the presentation of a house from the foundation. From there, various stints as a roofer, custom interior / exterior painter (and finishing of wood), assistant plumber, electrician’s assistant, a layer of carpet, wood & tile floors, rough carpenter, finish carpenter &, and. I wanted to know everything, as much as possible, so I can restore / remodel homes. Now it has become a stint as general contractor and has been professor of architecture / architects as a friend! As another answerer said earlier, “School of hard knocks.” I like to work with my hands and my (somewhat limited, LOL!), To collect information. I’m tired easily, life is short, so it should be do what I want.
Sound like I have some years behind me? See my avatar, which is really close to what I like, (goin hair “white!) How would you advise to enter the field? Easy! Sounds like already have the ‘wrong’! Professor of Architecture I know started in the field by going to school, working three part time to overcome, and eventually resumed creating her own home.
It was sold, and has done much since. I believe that if you believe in yourself, you achieve what you want! worked for a multi-millonaire down in Weatherford, Tx., who said the only difference (revenues), between himself and I was that he just went for it! had children, it was rough! See if you can buy a house from the bank is on the foreclosure, or check the sales tax of houses. Watch the market in your area, and areas close. Buy one, get a loan to rebuild, and sell it! Then use the money to buy another house and do the same thing again until you have enough profit to do this with full employment, many are home, and have sub-contractor do it for you. Eventually you will have enough money, time and go to school for Architecture, if you wish, really do situp the contractor, and listen when a woman know the material! (Remember, if you have a question is what-so-ever, we are here in Yahoo Answers!)

I do electrical work of three contractors restoring the home, along with my other work.
They are carpenters and craftsmen.
The hiring electricians and plumbers and sometimes heating and air conditioning contractors for those pieces of work. Do carpentry, drywalling, flooring, windows, roofing, and general fixing.
