Cannot Open . exe files from Command Line?
Hi,
I recently downloaded Visual Studio & since then I have not been able to access . Exe files such ipconfig, reg, netstat etc. . . From the windows command line.
If I go into the dirctory of C:WindowsSystem32> then i can access them just fine but not from the default homepath.
Also if the . Exe does not require the command line interface then i can still use it from run but why not cmd?
I tried restoring the registry to beofre the installation and it worked all . Exe files would open normally by going to start > run > cmd.
The only thing is that i lost all Visual Studio properties.
So i undid the restoration.
Anyone know if a fix so that I can get rid of this problem.
I am running windows xp home edition service pack 3.
I am running an sf/cscannow as we sepak but dont know the results.
Thanks a million in advance.
Regards,
Max

Make sure that c:windowssystem32 is in your Path variable. To check this:
Right click on My Computer and go to Properties
On the Advnaced tab click the Envirnoment Variables button.
Each path is separated by a ;
Hope this helps.
