Yes, the house was sagging terribly when I bought the roof line remained straight, but the floors were going each way. I spent a good part of the first year of jacking up the position under the new beams.

If it was 10 years old house would worry beings is a house 167 yo, I wouldnt worry about it.

I am a bit curious. . No cracks in the roof means a bad thing on top? or is that when one side of the house was falling down? remember who stole and strengthened the institution. Just curious.

This is indeed true. I remember such things. . Thanks.

Be careful when doing the bathroom walls.
It was common practice back in the day for the disposal of waste razorblades through a slit in the back of the medicine cabinet.
We found several antique rusty razorblades in the bathroom wall to Mom and Dad to cover a 5-gallon bucket.

I have a boat load of plaster mix, but I think some caulking works quite well in the cracks and things. . I made up my living room, used both, and some groups patch a flat roof.
It is smooth, but I'm shooting for trouble-free. I like old lookin ยป. Thanks for the comment.

Yea, I've found some cool old stuff already. . . Lots of hiding in an old house like this. . I'm lovin 'it.

Repair plaster highly recommend PolyFilla.
It should be mixed with water and hardens up very stable.
You can not use too much, because it is almost impossible to sand. I usually use drywall compound to finish with a smooth coat.

Yea, bullet holes! That explains that part of the house is fenced off. . That must be where the bodies. . . .

Good luck! Looks like another fun project. My parents remodeled an old house built in the early 1900's.
They found some cool old stuff through the walls and under the house in the process. . . Old tools, bottles, etc.. .

Well, I did not have video when I started this house, but now that I do, I thought it is a good source, only the paper work.
Sometimes it's kind of cool to be able to look back and see what it was like before, and what you did. . Thanks.

You have aa really beautiful old house there rpeek. Best wishes for the eventual full restoratio/nrenovation of the site. I must admit though, I am more interested in the old house from the old Hot Rod. I live in CT, a city that is larger than the country, and I am fascinated by the older forms of architecture.
Anywho, have a good time with your peeling-modern art-door.

all that wood in that house will look darn smart if they got down and refinished. Is a job to do, but when I do that seems completely worth it.
